You can invest in the funds that best suit your time horizon, risk tolerance and investment preferences. Bear in mind that mutual funds are intended to be long-term investments, and that income taxes must be paid at withdrawal when used to fund a tax-deferred retirement plan.

Fees and charges

•  Mutual funds have no Separate Account charges or contingent deferred sales charges
•  Annual custodial fee up to $40 depending on your custodial document
•  Mutual fund management fees (See prospectus for more information)
•  Free annual in-service withdrawals or transfers are limited to 20% of the amount allocated to the fixed option. Fees or additional limitations may apply depending on the contract unless certain conditions are met.

No surrender charge for fixed annuity option

There is no surrender charge for Policy Form IFA-406 when any of these events apply:

•  You annuitize your account
•  Your death
•  Your total and permanent disability
•  You make withdrawals to comply with required minimum distributions
•  You separate from service from the employer sponsoring the plan
•  You are at least 59½ and the contract has been in effect for five years or more

There is no surrender charge for Policy Form GFA-504 when any of these events apply:

•  You annuitize your account
•  Your death
•  Your total and permanent disability
•  You make withdrawals to comply with required minimum distributions
•  You separate from service from the employer sponsoring the plan

Guarantees on the fixed annuity option

• The fixed rate is declared monthly. The Variable Annuity Life Insurance Company guarantees the rate on all deposits received that month through the end of the calendar year. The Variable Annuity Life Insurance Company intends (but does not guarantee) to pay this rate on those deposits for an additional year.

 In the event of the owner’s death, the death benefit is equal to the account value of both the mutual funds and fixed annuity at the time all the paperwork is received "in good order."
